+60 years Designing and manufacturing lighting equipment for the Automotive Industry

About us

Our journey commenced back in 1953 in Gernika (Vizcaya) designing and producing lighting for 2-wheeler automotive market. Afterwards our dedication evolved, and the company expanded the production towards the 4-wheeler automotive market, designing lighting for buses, trucks and cars.
Starting from 1991, the presence of the RINDER brand raised among the automotive market. Since then we have been designing and supplying for the main manufacturers of the automotive field.
During 1999 we settle our first production unit in India, promoting this way an international expansion.
In 2006 the Rinder Group was consolidated with the creation of LSTC.

Light and Systems Technical Center
LSTC is a center specialized in fully process of design and R&D of lighting components, including the mechanical, optical, electronic, design and development of the production addition to offering technical support for the group´s factories.

In 2013 JV (Joint Venture) with Rinder Riduco emerges in Colombia from the collaboration between Rinder Group and the local company Riduco.

Later, in 2016 the UNOMINDA group acquired the factories from India and Colombia, together with the LSTC design center as well as the commercial brand Rinder. UNOMINDA group is one of the main suppliers for automotive components. The group is expanded among three continents and holds 62 manufacturing spaces in India, Indonesia, Vietnam, Spain, Morocco, Mexico, Colombia, Germany and design centers Taiwan, Japan and Spain, together with sales offices in North America, Europe and ASEAN countries.

Our view stands for aiming worldwide recognition of our design center to be consider among one of the leading center for lighting design in the automotive field. We hope for our Rinder brand together with the components manufactured in our factories to be recognized globally.

Our Design Center has developed over the years the skill to offer customers feasibility studies, pre-development, design, Product development, testing, homologation certification and R+D+i in the segment of the Automotive Lighting Industry
FEASIBILITY STUDY
Operational Analysis
To what operational analysis concerns we consider all the material as well as human resources that we consider necessary for the project development. The target is to evaluate present and future capabilities to reach a successful project development.
Technical Analysis
Concerning the Technical analysis, based on the customers’ requirements we evaluate the state-of-the-art technology together with the current market status and expected future according to the existing trends. The aim is being able to offer to customers a wide range of technical possibilities with varying levels of technical complexity adapted to the specifications received.
Economic Analysis
With respect to the economic analysis and based on our extensive experience in both design and raw materials, we study the different alternatives that belong to the selected technical options. The purpose is to offer the customer a variety of alternatives with different technical solutions, design and materials but always matching the target budget.
Styling
We also offer the styling proposal service based on market trends. This is an important aspect for the final success of the product.
MECHANICAL DESIGN
We participate actively in the development alongside our customers, with a continuous and permanent interaction, which translates into a reduction of the development time and cost.
We operate the most advanced software systems for thermal, fluids, vibration analysis, etc. To guarantee the perfect execution of the project from the preliminary stage of development.
We count with 3D printers that allow us for a faster interaction with a real designed piece, which makes easier the development of the final product, allowing rapid prototyping and even valid for some tests.
We work with the most common software systems in the market: CATIA, NX… to allow us to share files in quick and secure way with our customers.
We count with the real experience of our products being manufactured in more than 60 manufacturing plants worldwide, which allows us to be constantly up to date with the latest materials and manufacturing processes, resulting in the use of cheaper, more resistant materials and with technical properties that allow to our designers more freedom for creativity.
OPTICAL DESIGN
Our Optical department designs and develops the most advanced lighting technology systems, obtaining adaptative and high efficiency luminous systems.
We have an experienced and multidisciplinary team focused on the development, design, prototyping, assembly and validation of the optical systems, always tailored to our customer requirements.
Our developments list embraces from the use of incandescent lamps (H7, HS1, P21W), monochip and Multichip LED systems up to Laser Systems.
As TIER 1 suppliers we develop optical systems for Head Lamps, Tail Lamps, DRLs and additional lighting devices with multiple optical systems like reflectors, ellipsoidal reflectors, optical guides, fresnels, collimators, micro-optics, sequential lens, free- form surface lens etc.
We work with high standard software packages like Optis Speos, Lucidshape CAAV5, CODE V and also with developed in-house tools. These tools allow us to get quick developments and optimal simulations of the optical systems, always designed under our customer requirements and meeting all the international standards: ECE, SAE, FMVSS, AIS, GB, JIS, etc.
By means of our goniophotometer LMT GO-H1400 we can verify optically different functions of the same product with a single measurement.
ELECTRONICS DESIGN
The electronics department is set by a team of Engineers who create long-life light systems based on analog electronics circuitry development, satisfying customers ideas and requirements. The team is set by highly qualified and skilled Engineers, with long experience on hardware development.
Our work starts with the optical concept. The knowledge acquired by the department during the years, make our Engineers to choose the most appropriate LED for each application, as well as PCB type and other electronic components, to assure the correct working condition as per actual standards and customers’ requirements that are defined for each device.
The developed circuit technology uses our own topology, and AECQ automotive components are selected. One of the main goals of the department is to select components that offer robustness and reliability together with being competitive in cost. Our development and PCB routing capabilities are translated in top quality and reliability FR4 or MCPCB designs, that allow us to get the most cost effective solution.
Electrical and thermal validation testing is carried out at our laboratory, set with the required tools and equipment and Homologated third party certification is done for EMC testing.
LABORATORY TESTING AND HOMOLOGATION
In the laboratory at our own premises, we are able to conduct the required optical measurements, mechanical & thermal testing and electronics tests that lead us to the product verification & validation, and product qualification. The products designed are tested as per the required standards ensuring that complies with the customer specifications as well as the International regulation and homologation norm with the customer specifications as well as the International regulation and homologation norm
PRODUCTION
Light and Systems as integrated in UNOMINDA group is supported by more than 62 production plants with presence in 8 countries along North and South America, Africa, Europe and Asia. This leads us to provide integral solutions from the initial feasibility studies to homologation and production, under the security provided by an experience of more than 60 years in the automotive lighting business.

As part of the integrated solution, we handle and coordinate the Tooling, Production jigs and measuring jigs for providing a Key In Hand Service to our customers.
