Bilbao, May, 28th, 2026 – Yesterday, AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center welcomed the Automotive Regions Alliance of the European Committee of the Regions for a meeting aimed at sharing the current reality of the automotive sector in the Basque Country and highlighting the role of regions in the industrial and mobility transformation taking place across Europe.

During the meeting, the AIC model and the work developed within the Basque automotive ecosystem were presented, showcasing how collaboration between industry, innovation and territory contributes to strengthening European value chains, industrial competitiveness and the transition towards sustainable mobility.

The event also highlighted the strategic role of regions in fostering a more resilient, innovative and sustainable industry, in line with the objectives promoted by the Automotive Regions Alliance, which focus on advancing a fair and competitive transition for the European automotive sector.

ACICAE also emphasized the importance of continuing to strengthen the role of industry and regions as key drivers in building a stronger European automotive industry, prepared for future challenges and aligned with new technological, industrial and sustainability demands.
