In recent years, CIE Automotive has become a global operator with a differentiated business model based on multi-technology. This successful model has enabled it to consolidate its position as a specialist group in the management of industrial processes of high value added, being present on the main emerging markets worldwide. In order to pursue its business, it has 53 facilities, 5 business offices and 4 technology centres.

CIE Automotive is focusing its resources on two strategic business areas recording sharp growth: automobile components (with plants in Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Rumania, Lithuania, Mexico, Brazil and China) and biofuels (with biodiesel plants operating in Spain and Italy and its own sales network).

In the automobile sector, it defines itself as a global supplier of integral services and sub-assemblies. This involves working with 6 core technologies: Aluminium, Casting, Stamping, Pipe bending and welding, Forging, Machining and Plastic.

In Automotion, CIE Automotive gears its technologies towards the production of components for the following: Engine and Powertrain (Crankshafts, crankcases, wheelbalancing shafts, cylinder head covers, mounts…), Chassis and Steering (Brakes, suspension, chassis, axles, front end…), Exterior and Interior (Trims, cockpit subassemblies, airbag, seats…)

CIE Automotive operates with 6 different technologies:

1. Aluminium: 8 plants (Spain, Rumania and Mexico)

2. Forging: 5 plants (Spain, Lithuania and Brazil)

3. Stamping, pipe bending and welding: 14 plants (Spain, Czech Rep., Mexico, Brazil and China)

4. Casting: 1 plant (Brazil)

5. Machining: 23 plants (Spain, France, Czech Rep., Lithuania, Mexico and Brazil)

6. Plastic: 8 plants (Spain, Portugal, Czech Rep., Mexico and Brazil
